Subcontract CNC Turning

Wilco are a subcontract machining company in Birmingham. With high capacity in our 30,000 ft² facility, we offer prompt turnaround times and free of charge stock holding facility without compromising on quality.

As a CNC Turned Parts Manufacturer, we run both CNC Fixed Head Lathes and CNC Sliding Head Lathes. Our CNC Turning lathes are highly accurate and suitable for:

  • Machining components from 2mm diameter up to 65mm diameter
  • Working in all bar turning grade materials
  • Mill-Turning, with powerful spindle and driven tooling

Most of our CNC machines are best used for batch sizes upwards of 200. Their powerful spindle and driven tool motors make intricate machining quick and easy.

Swiss sliding head lathes manufacture close tolerance components from 2mm diameter up to 38mm diameter. Materials range from steel to brass and include engineering plastics. These machines are particularly well suited to producing medium and high quantity batches.

Conventional Bar Turning

We also provide subcontract turned parts manufacturing using conventional cam auto lathes which are extremely fast and suitable for medium to high volume, less complicated parts.

The Widest Possible Choice: a Variety of Materials

We work with a wide variety of materials to provide for clients across the market.

  • Brass Turned Parts
  • Steel Turned Parts
  • Aluminium Turned Parts
  • Stainless Steel Turned Parts
  • Copper Turned Parts
  • Engineering Plastics

What are turned parts?

Conventionally, turned parts are machined components that are cut using a lathe. The lathe holds and turns the part on a central axis during machining to create precise rotational forms with symmetry.

Technology has taken this basic wisdom and added to it so that parts that can be machined now include milled forms, cross drilled and tapped holes, and broaching.

Examples of turned parts include:

  • Spacers
  • Hose tails
  • Connectors
  • Screws, bolts or other threaded components
  • Nozzles
  • Housings
  • Spindles
  • Adapters
  • Axles

Complex components require precision manufacturing to ensure proper functioning and compatibility. Using conventional and CNC lathes, Wilco achieves precision to extremely tight tolerances and our turned parts are used in a wide variety of industries. These include automotive, hardware, leisure, electrical, yellow goods, plumbing, marine, HVAC, telecommunications and much much more.
